    Because if so, I think you helped.

    You said "My friend really enjoyed your show, despite himself."

    And I thought, "What would make that the case? I guess if he was an unreasonable, dork-hating jock, right?"

    So that's what I said.

    I think in context it made perfect sense and if anyone insulted him, it was you.

    Or maybe both of us. As a team.

    Actually, he's one of the smartest people I know. Which is why I thought he'd like your show. And, of course, I was right. :-)
