Skunkosher

Skunk.
Unkosher.
Skunkosher.

I don't know if any religions outlaw the eating of this animal, but they probably don't have to.

Louieekend

Louie.
Weekend.
Louieekend.

Last night, tonight, and tomorrow night, I perform with Mr. CK at Caroline's.

Come!*

(If the name of this post sounds like me saying "the weekend" in French, I apologize or you're welcome, depending how you feel about it.)

Rendezvous.
Useful.
Rendezvouseful.

* Probably don't try to come last night, because it was sold out. Also because you'd need a time machine. But I suppose if you had one of those, you could probably manage to go back far enough to get tickets also. Which would displace someone who was there last night, which is either impossible because it's already happened, or would create a parallel timeline in which you saw the show and they didn't, which I think is more likely. So go for that. Also let me know how you got a time machine.

NormanD-Day

Normandy.
D-Day.
NormanD-Day.

Today marks the anniversary of the first day of the 1944 invasion, named after the last syllable of the province being invaded.

Bonjour.

Moviehicle

Movie.
Vehicle.
Moviehicle.

Sometimes a film will be referred to as a vehicle for a certain actor.

That could be confusing under certain circumstances:
e.g. "In this scene in the Vin Diesel vehicle, Vin Diesel's vehicle is fueled with diesel. Diesel vin*."

Gasoline.
Linear.
Gasolinear.

This is confusing for a few reasons, most salient of which is probably "Why is someone talking about Vin Diesel?"
(Unless to ask that very question.)

Recursivity.
Vin Diesel.
Recursvin Diesel.

* That last part only makes sense if the person speaking accidentally uses the French word for wine instead of gas.
Or purposefully does so.
It could happen.

Once a person decides to review a Vin Diesel movie, I'd say anything is possible.

Especially if that person already has wine on the brain, literally and figuratively, which could also explain why they A) saw the movie, and B) are now talking about it.

Synonames

Synonym.
Names.
Synonames.

Word combinations where either of the two parts would have sufficed alone:

Happy.
Peachy.
Happeachy.

Pleased to be pleased.

Darren.
Aronofsky.
Darronofsky.

Good for if he had to provide his first and last name in a big hurry.

Rendez-vous.
Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?
Rendez-voulez vous...

You get the idea.

Bracefaculty

Braceface.
Faculty.
Bracefaculty.

When anyone in my elementary school got braces, the third-grade teacher would buy them a milkshake.

Kismet.
Metalmouth.
Kismetalmouth.

Kids would show up, flash a crooked metallic smile, and be on their way to Milkshake Town.*

Frappe.
Appreciated.
Frappreciated.

It made me jealous, because I liked milkshakes, too.

Why wasn't I the lucky one with misshapen teeth that would lead to years of physical and emotional pain due to the Eiffel Tower being glued into my mouth (plus a delicious milkshake right now)?

Discomfort.
Orthodontist.
Discomforthodontist.

In time, I finally got my wish...
My own braces, my own milkshake, and my own regret!

Moral of the story: kids do not know how to prioritize.

Futile.
Utilitarianism.
Futilitarianism.

Also, is a sugary drink really the best gift for a child with already unhealthy teeth?

Dentistry.
Treat.
Dentistreat.

Other moral of the story: adults do not know how to prioritize.

Cavity.
Teacher.
Caviteacher.

* Not the name of a real town.
Also not the name of a real neighborhood (like Chinatown).
Possibly the name of a real place that sells milkshakes.
(Or if not already, then I call it. Hello, royalties!)

Lamazeltov

Lamaze.
Mazeltov.
Lamazeltov.

Congratulations, it's a breathing method!
What's its name?

Psychoprophylaxis.
(Its name before Dr. Fernand Lamaze popularized it.)

Sounds like a crazy condom.

No wonder it wasn't popular.
(People thought it was like a crazy straw, winding around in every direction.*
Didn't seem like it would help with giving birth very much.)

Psychoprophylaxis.
Accident.
Psychoprophylaccident.

* "Lamaze" doesn't actually sound much better.
Seems like the French word for "the maze," winding around in every direction.

Bedlam.
Lamaze.
Bedlamaze.

France.
Ancillary.
Francillary.

A couple days ago, I was excited to see that some folks had happened upon this site from France.

Australia.
Also.

But check out this more recent and potentially more interesting news...
in the past 24 hours, the blog has received three hits from Saudi Arabia.
